Athletics at Virginia Academy

At Virginia Academy, we see athletics as a means to provide our students with an opportunity to gain much needed physical exercise, but also to learn valuable life lessons through teamwork, competition, and hard work. We believe that genius can be expressed through athletics as well as academics, and sports provide many students an opportunity to use and display special God-given talents and abilities as well as opportunities to secure financial means for future educational pursuits. Athletics also help to build school spirit and opportunities for social interaction. For all these reasons, we encourage participation in a variety of intramural and interscholastic sports – elementary through upper school. Our upper school athletics program is led by former Steeler and Redskin great, Antwaan Randle El. Below is a list of sports available to students by department and gender.
