How many admissions applications do you receive?

We receive around 500 per admissions season with roughly 150 spots available to fill. Because of the competitive ratio of applications to openings available, it is important to pay close attention to all deadlines when completing the application and submitting pertinent checklist documents.

Are students placed in a wait pool?

The Virginia Academy admissions process is very much like a college admissions process. Our applications are live to the public mid-September of the year prior to intended enrollment.

Every applicant that applies by the January 31st deadline is considered in the same manner. We accept mission minded, quality applicants and families. Generally, we have more qualified applicants than openings! Every admissions season, we place a limited number of applicants in a wait pool. The wait pool is not ranked. If spaces become available, the committee will reconvene to reconsider all candidates in the wait pool. Should space not be available for the 2024-2025 academic year, we hope that applicants will consider reapplying for the 2025-2026 school year. The application process begins new every September.

Where can I find your school calendar, and do you follow LCPS?
