Summer Camp

Make this the best summer ever! Whether your student loves sports, art, games, or STEM, Virginia Academy summer camp let’s your student chose their dream summer! Each of the 4 weeks of summer camp, your elementary school student can sign up for a different enrichment experience.

What is the camp experience?

Summer Camp drop off will be at Virginia Academy beginning at 8am and pick up will be 4-4:30pm. The first portion of the day will be completely devoted to the camp’s theme, whether it be theater, sports, STEM, or any of the other awesome experiences we have to offer!

Following lunch, your student will find a more traditional summer camp experience!  Group games, activities, carnivals, and amazing trips are just some of the things that are coming their way!  Each camp will go on at least three field trips during the week; we might visit the pool, a climbing park, a museum, or local national park.

I Registered for Summer Camp! Now What?

Greetings Summer Camp Families! We cannot wait to kick off VAA Summer Camp!  Here is some important information as we get ready to start this camp season.

Important Note from the Nurse:

When you arrive on Monday, you will need to fill out the following paperwork: Liability and Consent Form and Camper Information Form. Additionally, the Allergy Action Plan Form, Asthma Action Plan, and Medical Authorization Form will each need to be filled out PRIOR to camp starting.

If your child requires an inhaler, epipen, or any other medication while attending camp, please fill out the appropriate form and email it to nurse@virginia-academy.com directly. You must supply the medication in its original packaging with a prescription label attached to the nurse on the first day of camp.  If the proper forms are not completed, your child will not be permitted to attend VAA Camps.

Virginia Academy will also need a copy of your camper’s immunization record.  Please send it to nurse@virginia-academy.com. If your student is a current Virginia Academy student, the nurse already has this form, and there is no need to resubmit. Your child will not be permitted to attend VAA Camps without a copy of immunization records.

Monday Morning Check-In:

On Mondays, please park in the visitor parking lot (located in front of the bubble). Parents will be invited into our Upper Lobby (Russell Branch) for drop off. There, you will check in, meet your students’ teacher and counselors, and make sure your paperwork is up to date! The Camp Directors and nurse will be on site to answer any questions you might have. Drop off will begin at 8:00am and will run until 8:30am. Please note: if you arrive late on Monday, it might take longer than normal to get everything in order.

Drop-off & Pick-up Instructions:

To ensure that you arrive at the correct entrance and do not enter the wrong carline, please follow the lower level Preschool- 5th grade car line Tuesday- Friday. You may park in the side lot near the bubble during Monday Morning Check-In. Drop-off on Tuesday through Friday will be through the Kiss and Ride only, as will pick-up everyday. Please do not exit your vehicle at any time other than Monday Morning Check-In. Upon pick-up, you must present your car tag with your camper’s name and grade listed. If your car tag is not presented, an ID check will occur to verify permission to pick up before campers are released. Car tags will be given during Monday morning drop off.

Early Pick-Up:

If your student needs to be picked up early, please email aftercare@virginia-academy. On trip days (Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday) we will be off-campus beginning at 11:30am. Please communicate any conflicts in order to ensure smooth early dismissals as necessary.
